Life's such a Pitch

The curse of the penalty shootout continues to plague the England football team as they go out 3-1 on penalties after holding Portugal to a 0-0 draw AET with 10 men. Hargreaves (boy, didn't he shut all his many critics up tonight? Massive performance!) scored the only spot kick for the 3 Lions and he doesn't even play in England. :p Earlier, they had to retire Beckham due to a knee injury, after which Wayne Looney got himself sent off for pushing his clubmate C Ronaldo. These Manure forwards just don't like each other very much, do they?

Portugal now await the winner of the Brazil-France quarterfinal, while Italy will (woohoo!) play hosts Germany in the other semi.

So, the Azzurri dispatched off Shev & co. much easier than I thought, but they are through and we are 3-for-3 in our prediction of the last four thus far. They will be up against formidable home advantage and it will not be easy. More on that later. Right now, I'm just chuffed chuffed chuffed! The sleepiness is almost gone all of a sudden and I can't wait for Brazil vs France! ;)
